Hinduism in South Asia: Myth and Reality

Abstract

Hinduism is not a religion; it is a society that bears century’s old traditions. Versified teachings of four Vedas are the sacred books of their centuries old civilization that is called mythical literature of Hinduism. It is not a religion because the teachings which are not based on metaphysics are not religion. They are called an ‘ism’. Obviously Hinduism is a journey accompanying with time up till now. Surprisingly enough the Hindu society arose, developed and spread in Indian Sub-Continent only. Racial superiority and geographical sacredness are the basic foundation of Hinduism on which stands their society consisting on four classes: Barahman, Vesh, Kashtari and Shoodar, idolatry in incarnated form, their rituals, mythology and dogmas that is now being introduced as Vishal Bharat or Hindutuva.
